Who you are dealing with
Masons Mail is provided by Craig Mason in Sweden. Contact craig@masonsmail.com with service questions or complaints. Our Imprint identifies the operator and our Privacy notice explains information handling.
These terms cover the personal mailbox and account-management service. Separate Natter messaging, meeting and business services are outside these terms. A guest using a Natter meeting link does not need a Masons Mail mailbox or the Natter app.
Creating an account
The signup form links to these terms before you submit it. By selecting Create a mailbox, you agree to these terms and request an account. The account is created when signup completes successfully. These terms are provided in English and dated so that you can save a copy of the version you read.
You must be able to enter this agreement under the law that applies to you, or have any permission required from a parent or guardian. Choose an address you are entitled to use and provide accurate information when it is needed to operate the account.
Your mailbox
Your mailbox includes the address and storage allowance offered by the service, together with its available mail and calendar features. Your current allowance appears in your account. Compatible mail apps can connect using our device setup guide. Available features depend on the app and connection method.
Keep your password secure. You are responsible for your use of the service and access you intentionally give to other people. Tell craig@masonsmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
A way back in
A recovery email is optional. We send a link to verify it, and you can follow that link after creating and starting to use your account. Password-reset links can only be sent to a verified recovery address.
If you forget your password without a verified recovery address, you could lose access to your mailbox. Adding or changing that address in settings requires your current password. Support cannot promise to restore access when ownership cannot be established.
The price, including the crossed-out bit
The personal mailbox is currently free. The planned price is US $1 per month. We intend to keep it free until storage, hardware and day-to-day operating costs make charging necessary. The free period has no fixed end date or guaranteed minimum duration.
Before introducing a charge for your free mailbox, we will tell you the start date, total price including any applicable tax, billing interval and cancellation options. We will ask you to agree to a paid plan. Creating a free account does not authorise an automatic paid subscription or retrospective charges.
If you do not wish to pay, we will give you reasonable time to save your mail and close the account before a paid plan would be needed to continue. Any separately offered paid feature will show its own price and purchase terms before you choose it.
Fair usage, in plain English
Storage is subject to fair usage and available capacity. The allowance displayed in your account is your current limit. It is not unlimited storage or a promise that a free allowance will stay the same forever.
Use your mailbox for ordinary correspondence. Do not use it for unsolicited bulk mail, excessive automated traffic or general-purpose file storage. The mail infrastructure can also impose sending and attachment limits.
When a limit is reached, sending, receiving or storing more mail may stop until usage falls or the allowance changes. For planned material reductions to an existing allowance, we will explain the change in advance and give you a reasonable opportunity to reduce or save your mail. Urgent security or abuse restrictions may need to happen sooner.
A few things that are not welcome
Do not use the service for spam, phishing, fraud, malware, unlawful content or harassment. Do not impersonate someone, access another person's account without permission, evade safeguards or deliberately disrupt the service. You must have the right to send and store the material you use it for.
We may restrict, suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary to address misuse, protect users or comply with law. Urgent protective action may happen without advance notice. Contact craig@masonsmail.com to ask about a restriction or request a review; we will explain the reason where lawful and where doing so would not compromise security.
Your content and privacy
Your messages remain yours. You permit us and the providers running the service to process, store and transmit them as needed to provide the features you request. This does not give us permission to sell your mailbox data or use it to build advertising profiles.
Ordinary email is not automatically end-to-end encrypted. Your recipients and their providers receive the messages you send them. Your mail app and device settings also affect how your information is handled. Read our Privacy notice for the current details, including outstanding information about retention and processing locations.
Reliability and service changes
We aim to keep the service available. Maintenance, technical faults, security incidents and other providers can affect access and delivery. Keep your own copies of important correspondence. No particular uptime percentage is included unless expressly stated in your plan.
We will explain planned material service changes or closure in advance and allow an appropriate opportunity to retrieve your mail or leave. Security and operational emergencies can require earlier action. Any notice and remedies required by applicable law still apply.
Leaving
You can request deletion from account security using your current password. The confirmation shows when deletion is due and how to cancel the request in the meantime. After the cancellation period, the deletion process removes the mailbox, clears direct account profile information and cancels active storage subscriptions. Save mail you need before deletion proceeds.
Related service, security and financial records and backup copies may remain as explained in our Privacy notice. Closing a Masons Mail mailbox does not itself delete a separate Natter account or messages already delivered to other people.
Questions and your legal rights
For questions, complaints or account help, email craig@masonsmail.com. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer or data-protection rights, excludes responsibility that the law does not allow us to exclude, or prevents you from using a competent authority or court.
This version takes effect on 11 September 2026 for new accounts created through the signup form that links to it. Publishing it does not by itself record acceptance by existing account holders. We will communicate material changes and obtain any agreement required by applicable law before applying them to an existing account.
