Natter for Business terms

Placeholder terms — not yet reviewed by a lawyer.

These are the terms for the Natter Business API, offered by Masons Mail. Version 2026-09-05. By accepting them you agree to them on behalf of the business you name when you create it.

What you pay. Inbound messages — messages people send to your business — are free. Outbound messages — messages your business sends — are billed per message at the price of your tier at the time of sending. Verification codes for your business phone numbers are billed at the SMS cost we pay. We invoice monthly, in euro, to the card on file for your account. Invoices under €0.50 are carried into the next month.

Who you may write to. You may only message a person who has written to your business in the last six months. The Natter server refuses messages outside that window. You may not send unsolicited marketing, and you may not buy, rent or import lists of people to message.

Opting out. When a person blocks your business or replies STOP, messaging that person ends at once. You must not try to reach them from another number or another business.

Content review. A sample of your outbound messages is reviewed automatically for unsolicited marketing, spam, harassment, scams and illegal content. Flagged messages are read by Masons Mail staff.

Suspension and bans. On breach of these terms your business may be throttled, paused, suspended or banned. Each action is emailed to your contact address with the reason. While paused or suspended, sends are refused; inbound messages still reach you. Refused sends are not billed.

Confidentiality. Conversations between your business and people are held unencrypted on the Natter server so that they can be delivered to your webhook, reviewed and audited. Personal conversations between people on Natter are not covered by this; they are end-to-end encrypted and never visible to us.

Your data. We keep your account details, the business record, API key identifiers (never the key itself), usage rows and invoices for billing and for the audit trail. You can see all of it from your dashboard.

Appeals and questions. Reply to any email from us, or write to the contact address on the imprint page. We answer within a few working days.

Changes. When these terms change you will be asked to accept the new version before you can change your tier or issue new keys. Sending is not interrupted by a terms change alone.
